Gotta pack the bags and move into new digs over at the new Paint Outside the Frame Blog. Everything that is on this blog is archived and saved and moved over to the new spot. So it’s time to say goodbye to Blogsome and say hello to Wordpress. The blog is spiffed up with Tag Clouds and even some Amazon books floating around there recommended by me. It’s really a great new place to find all your Painter X Tutorials information and the latest on artists that use Corel Painter X. So come on over to the Paint Outside the Frame Blog and please feel free to comment there!

I can’t wait to leave for the Niagara School of Imaging to teach Painter for a week! What the website doesn’t tell you all about is that I am bringing tons of
goodies with me to do hand embellishing and play with gold leafing and other techniques so that everyone will leave with a finished canvas!
Classes start Sunday August 19th and end Thursday the 23rd. That is a lot of time for us to be digitally painting and finishing art.
Last year we really had a blast there! Be sure to check out the Sarasota blog post to see some of what we will be doing in Niagara. Let me know if you are coming!!

Unbelievable, isn’t it? Learn DIGITAL PAINTING with not one, but TWO world class instructors at the LVS online six week course Portraits that Pop! Karen Bonaker is a well known Corel Painter instructor on the LVS site and has been doing workshops there online for a long time. I am joining her as a guest instructor for three sessions that will then continue discussions afterwards with whoever is a Digital Painting Forum subscriber. So my part of the class will continue as far as the students want to take it on the forum.

You may have missed my article and tutorial in the premier issue one of Painter Magazine from Imagine Publishing in the UK. The article is on Quick Cloning and it is beautifully produced by the magazine. It’s online now in PDF format. Give it time to download as it’s full of images.

Marilyns Corel Painter Magazine Tutorial

This is a video of the workshop we just finished at the Digital Technology Centre in Sarasota. The next one scheduled there is in February 2008 and it’s already booking! On the third day we did hand embellishing the prints with medium gel,embossing,paint,goldleaf, gold leaf pens and gold leaf paint and more. All these beautiful canvas started out as digital files painted in Corel Painter X. Everyone went home with a printed canvas finished painting. That was so much fun we are going to do it again in Niagara at the Niagara School of Imaging and then again in North Carolina at the Smoky Mountain Learning Center in October.

Here are also some of the paintings we did there. Many attendees finished multiple paintings in the three days!

And one more for you to enjoy of the beautiful digital art that then became multi media hand embellished finished canvas.
